		<description>Lou, this approach sounds good and I look forward to borrowing it. I especially appreciate your fore grounding of the template. I agree that the work from chapter 4 makes some heavy assumptions about the students giving the responses, but I think high schoolers can become equally invested in helping their classmates. 

Tomorrow my students are completing a first draft of their first essay. I plan to collect them, and try to give them some initial response, but I&#039;m already fretting about the time it&#039;s going to take to follow through. I&#039;m going to craft SOMETHING between now and tomorrow afternoon...</description>

		<description>Even though this flagged on my bloglines a couple weeks ago, I just got around to reading this, Lou. I think that this might fit under a larger umbrella of &quot;presentation&quot; (or some other term, perhaps) that--like diction--is really critical for any writer to consider when composing. I wonder if the whole texting thing could be used productively in this discussion; the lack of capitals, short length, and so on are because of the limitations of the devices as much as the writer&#039;s sloppiness. That is, there&#039;s an exigence (crappy little keyboards, number of characters allowed by sms, etc.) that drives the particular presentation of text messages, and the exigence of producing USPS-ready labels doesn&#039;t require &lt;b&gt;better&lt;/b&gt; but &lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt;different&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt; formatting. 

Keep thinking about this, and let us all know what happens in your classes with this. It&#039;s an important idea.</description>
